Kyle Bronson and Amber Lloyd Purchase Golden Isles Speedway
Noted Florida dirt late model competitor Kyle Bronson and fiancé Amber Lloyd have purchased Golden Isles Speedway, effective immediately. Golden Isles is a 4/10-mile semi-banked red clay oval located near Brunswick, Georgia. The track will be leased to Frankie and Jackie Lloyd who will oversee operations for the 2022 season and beyond. Frankie and Jackie Lloyd are the grandparents of Amber Lloyd and have been involved in the promotion at Golden Isles in previous years. A schedule for 2022 will be published in coming weeks and planning is underway for a busy season, including the Super Bowl of Racing on January 26-29 featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Discussion is underway for a variety of additions and amenities and further announcements will be forthcoming. “This is an opportunity to be part of a great race track, a track that will be a big part of the sport well into the future,” said Bronson. “We are looking at the long term, and our goal is to keep the track in the family for years to come. I will continue to race just like before, and this is also a big part of our future. We’re very excited about the possibilities.”
Built by S.O. Jenkins, Golden Isles began competition in 1970. The facility boasts a range of recent infrastructure upgrades including modern grandstands and sound system, and has emerged in recent years as one of the finest motorsports venues in the southeastern U.S. More details will be posted at “Gisdirt.com” as they develop.
